When he arrives at the hotel, the manager walks up to him saying, "We've reserved your usual room, the one you had last year. The one which looks out over the trees. I believe you liked it" (pg. 19). Knowing that the manager remembered which room Herr preferred most. It made him feel like he was known, at least by them, and it gave him a sense of security.

The book that I am reading for my fourth quarter outside reading book is Heavenly Date and Other Flirtations, which was written by Alexander McCall Smith. In this chapeter it takes place in the 20th century in Switzerland's largest city, Zurich. I know that the main characters name is Herr Brugli. He has a butler who is also his bestfriend has worked for him for fiftteen years, and his name is Markus. He's in his early 80's, and lives in a mansion on the shores of Lake Zurich. Herr is in love with a woman named, Madame Verloren van Thermaat, who lives two miles away and she lives on the shores of the same lake. About once a week, the two of them go on a walk along the shore, and then finish it off by going to a cafe called, Sprungli's. When Herr arrived at Madame Thermaat's house for the walk, he asked her if she would like a blanket, but she refused saying, "I am perfectly warm, I never feel the cold" (pg. 4).
